I would remind everyone the reserve list has been withdrawn and players who wish to be added to a game MUST CONTACT DOUGIE BEATTIE. • Greensomes result.

  • The Greensomes (pairs) took place on March 20/22/23/24 over Seafield golf course and 9 pairs braved the wet and windy conditions with the scoring at the head of the field excellent. Seven of the nine pairs shot nett par or better with the podium places up for grabs. In 3rd spot with a nett 66 (2 under par) were Alan Smeeton and Alan Muir whose round contained birdies at holes 1/12 with an eagle 2 at 14. Ultimately the triple bogey 7 at hole 2 would cost them in the fight for a higher finish. Runners-up with a fine nett 64 (4 under par) were David Edgar and David Mansell firing birdies at holes 6/14 but unfortunately hole 2 with a triple bogey and hole 13 with a double bogey meant the chances of a win had vanished. Our clear winners with a fabulous score of 68 scratch (level par) which converted to a nett 60 (8 under par), were John Cathcart and Robert Gilchrist. In a round with only 7 pars, the birdies flowed freely at holes 5/9/12/16 but the highlight came at the 3rd where Robert Gilchrist fired his 7 iron, 154yds into the cup for a fabulous hole in one, to finally achieve his first ace after 27 years of playing golf. The final margin of victory was 4 shots over the rest of the field.

  • Captain versus Vice-Captain draw.

  • The Captain versus Vice-Captain match takes place on March 27/29/30/31 over Seafield golf course. This event is Medal Match play and all players should complete their scorecard as normal. The Captain and Vice-Captain shall pick their teams on March 26th but the draw is as follows: Wednesday game 1 is J Brodie, S Kelly, J Taylor; game 2 is D Edgar, S Smith, J Burnett; game 3 is D Mansell, G Cavanagh, I Young; Friday game 1 is R MacIntosh, E Borland, I Speirs; game 2 is G Christie, H Mackie, J Bryden, S Hannah; Saturday game is A Muir, M Mancini, R Greenwood, A Smeeton; Sunday game J Cathcart, R Gilchrist, I Gray. I would remind everyone the reserve list has been withdrawn and players who wish to be added to a game MUST CONTACT DOUGIE BEATTIE. Any player who fails to do so and puts their name straight in to BRS will be disqualified but shall be charged the entry fee for the event. Good luck to everyone taking part.

  • Chase Golf Club Singles and Doubles draws for season 2023/24.

  • The draws for the Singles and Doubles have been posted on the website for all to peruse. All matches, excluding the Final, must be concluded on the day played i.e. in the event of a tie the players must proceed to the 19th or subsequent holes to conclude the contest. Extensions will only be given for golf course closures or in the event of a prolonged play off (darkness), but only after the Handicap Secretary has been contacted. Players are reminded that they are ineligible to participate in a Strokeplay competition if they are completing a Matchplay tie as differing penalties may apply to any Rules infringements. Therefore, no ties will be incorporated into any Strokeplay event draws. Like previous years there is no challenger so all players are equally responsible for arranging a MUTUALLY AGREED DATE and TIME TO PLAY. We would ask that all competitors exercise common sense in arranging ties. Failure to agree a date will result in both parties being disqualified, unless the Handicap Secretary has been contacted at least 7 days before the play by date and made aware of the difficulties. Only the Handicap Secretary will be responsible for allowing extensions, if he believes circumstances warrant it. Good luck to all who are taking part.

  • Electronic score returns

  • Please refer to the email instruction sent out on 10/08/20. If members require further assistance in this matter they should contact Dougie Beattie (Handicap Secretary).

  • Amendment to procedure

  • Following 2 incidents where a member was left without a game, the following procedure must now be followed by all players who pull out of a game after the draw has been made. It is now a requirement that the player pulling out contacts EVERYONE PLAYING IN THE GROUP to inform them. This should happen as a common courtesy but clearly has not been.
